Rev. Joanna Drewry - Associate Minister
Rev. Joanna is a licensed minister with Centres for Spiritual Living. In addition, she was ordained in 2010 by the Rev Dr. Jacqueline Darby of the International Alliance of the Churches of Truth. Rev. Joanna has been a member of the Positive Living Centre of Victoria, now the Centre for Spiritual Living Victoria for more than 15 years and trained for five years under the Rev. Kim Fairrell, a former RSI minister, who served as the Centre's Minister until 2013.
Prior to entering Ministry Rev. Joanna worked for the federal government for 26 years and the Government of British Columbia for 6 years. She worked in a number of departments in communications and policy management, including the Privy Council Office and the Treasury Board Secretariat, and became an EX (executive) with the federal government at a time when few women had entered the ranks of senior management. She has a B.A. in English and History, an Honours B.A. in English and an M.A. in Public Administration. Since retiring she worked as Victoria's contributing writer for Gardens West magazine for 8 years and was active as a Board member of the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific for many years, serving as President from 2008-2010.
When Rev. Kim retired Rev. Joanna agreed to serve as Minister while the Positive Living Centre entered into affiliation with Centres for Spiritual Living. She served as Minister for a year as the Centre sought a new Minister through Centres for Spiritual Living.
She has also led book studies, has been part of the many classes taught by Senior Minister Rev. Carrie Hunter; has been an active member of the Board of Trustees, and leads various volunteer teams as required. She is leader of Compassionate Care at the Centre and serves as Associate Minister with Rev. Carrie Hunter, participating in morning services and speaking when Rev. Carrie is away. She is always available for prayer treatment, weddings and celebrations of life.
Ceremonies by Rev. Joanna
Weddings
I will be pleased to work with couples to help them prepare a wedding ceremony that reflects their unique circumstances. Ceremonies are focused on spiritual truths and are non-sectarian.
Celebrations of Life
I provide Celebrations of Life for loved ones who have made their transition. Such Celebrations are designed to suit the requirements of family members and enable tributes to be given by friends and relatives. Services are non-sectarian and reflect the spiritual truths of Science of Mind.
Naming Celebrations
In addition I enjoy providing Naming Celebrations for infants as these are important occasions to welcome children into circle of friends and relatives.
